POSITION: NETWORK MANAGER

ANNOUNCEMENT NUMBER: 06-178

JOB LOCATION: Denton, TX--Information Services

MINIMUM SALARY: $1,950.654 Bi-weekly

DUTIES: Performs administration of the wide area network including, but not
limited to, maintaining servers and active directory, ensuring system
security and data integrity, performing backups, as well as installing,
maintaining, upgrading, and troubleshooting network servers (Microsoft
Windows Server, Data Protection Manager, Exchange, SharePoint, SQL Server,
SMS, MOM, Virtual Server, and more), and infrastructure such as voice, data,
and fiber optic cabling, uninterruptible power supplies, network circuits,
routers, switches and other related components. The employee is also
responsible for coordination and supervision of vendors and consultants
hired by Denton County and serve as the lead technician that will be in
charge of Technical Services in the absence of the Technical Services
Manager.

QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer programming,
or a related field, or completion of an approved systems engineering and
development program; and 3 to 5 years of experience with designing,
implementing, and administering advanced networks systems and
infrastructures and experience with PC software and PC repair; or an
equivalent combination of education and related experience.

REQUIREMENTS: Comp TIA Network +, Comp TIA A+, Microsoft Certified
Professional. Comp TIA Server+, Dell Certification, Microsoft Certified
Systems Engineer/ Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator and/or Cisco
Systems Certifications preferred. Works 40 hours/week and overtime as
required.

This is hilarious. When a person as qualified as what Denton County is
seeking (see below) can make twice this amount or more every two weeks in
the private sector, what moron would want to apply for this job? They've
been running this ad non-stop for weeks and apparently can't figure out what
the problem is.

Denton is a tough town to work in and make a decent living. Two
universities makes it tough. Too much cheap labor.

They apparently get someone but have to repost every 3 to 6 months as that
person wises up and takes a real job.
