I am looking for input for a Company called Hummingbird Corporation based
out of Toronto Ontario Canada with offices globally. In short they are a
documentation management company.

I have an opportunity to work for this company and I am looking to hear from
the following:

-Previous and current employees of Hummingbird and,
-Previous, current and perspective customers of Hummingbird.

Some examples of the things I would like to hear about would be;
how the are as an employer, how they deal with their customer, what is good
about working for them, what is bad about working for them, why you like
them as a supplier, why you hate them as a supplier, why you would not use
them and why you are using their competition.

Please...no names.
If you must, then email me directly.
If you don't like posting back to the group as a whole, then feel free to
email me directly.

You must remove "nospam" from my return email address if you do wish to
contact me directly.
***@nospamhotmail.com

Thank you for your help.

I have had many response's directly (none to the group's) and I thought that
I would share the results in a summary format as actually requested by one
responder.

- First, anyone who has sent a response - Thank you very much.
- Second. I have deleted all emails after copy/pasting the info into a word
doc. Thus even your IP's are not stored.
- Third, by me posting the results in a summary format, everyone stays
anonymous as only my IP address is being shown.
- Forth, I would still like to hear from more people and I am happy to take
the e-mail's directly. Please email me at ***@nospamhotmail.com
(You must remove "nospam" from my return email address if you do wish to
contact me).

I make no judgements, only post the results to date.

Summary:
-Employees dissatisfied with many area's such as how the company is run and
how the product is developed.
-Company is slow to respond to suggestions, complaints and bug reports.
-Low turnover in employees
-Stale Attitudes
-Management focused on appearances
-Tunnel vision from all
-Lengthy release cycles
-Working hard not smart
-Tunnel vision with product (no flexibility to change direction once
started)
-Top exec's get new company (SUV style) vehicles every year
-Need more focus on the results
-Many employee's just going through the motions as the motions are basis for
evaluations
-Sales team needs to be more aggressive...reliant on product selling it's
self (referral sales)
-Very little output from Marcom - no high visibility messages
-Dedicated HR/IT teams to support employees
-No lay offs with recent lower share value (salary's frozen and cut in some
instances)
-Some (not all) management are old style believing that verbal abuse will
motivate
-Reliable product
-Not responsive to customer needs at any level
-Secure unchanging environment
-Well defined roles and responsibilities (inflexible)

Thank you for your responses and I hope there are more to come.
